She mentioned that she had recently been in a brothel somewhere in the east (sorry, I cannot remember where). She said the women there are more or less encouraged to have 1 or 2 children while living in the brothels because it makes them a slave of poverty and makes them that much more dependent on that way of life. Then she made the most informed statement I have ever heard on the issue of a woman's right to choose. She said:
It is important for a woman to be autonomous. She needs to be able to be true to her God and her fertility. A woman's body is not the property of the church, the state or another person.
How profound is that?
