Yao Ming and Lin Hao

Last night during the opening ceremony of the Olympics, China's flag was carried in by Houston Rockets star Yao Ming. Walking next to Yao was a 9-year-old who did not even stand as tall as the tips of Yao's fingers. This little boy is a bigger hero than Yao is tall.

Lin is a survivor of the earthquake that devastated the Sichaun province earlier this year. He was at school when the earthquake happened. Twenty of his classmated died in the quake. Lin dug himself out of the rubble. Then the heroism began. He went back in to the rubble twice to save two classmates. He is 9. Why did he do this?

When asked he said, "I am the hall monitor, it is my job." Job well done, little Lin. Job well done.
