Here We Go

The Republicans don't seem to be able to run a campaign on the issues to save their lives. The only thing they think works (and unfortunately, does work) are swift-boat type attacks on their opponents.

Sarah Palin took the first jab today at a rally in Denver bringing up a dead topic of a relationship Barack Obama supposedly has with a radical 60's, never convicted terrorist. Obama served on a board with this man and obviously that makes you a good friend and a pal. This man made a donation to Obama's state campaign, probably because he knew of him because they served on the same board and live in the same neighborhood. So what? How many criminals make donations to Republicans? Can anyone say Wall Street executives?

I hope that the American people are finally hip to this type of attack and see it for what it is - a lame attempt to get the topic away from the real issues, i.e. the economy and the war in Iraq, and on things that just don't matter. If this works again I really am going to be worried about this country of ours and the mentality of the people. It worked against Michael Dukakis and John Kerry. Don't let it work again.
