Let's Analyze This Situation

President through history have been tested after their election. Let's look at the history of the matter:





1. Ronald Reagan In 1981, just months after Reagan was sworn in John Hinckley, Jr. attempted to assassinate the President. While that was not an attempt by a foreign nation or foreign terrorists, President Reagan did almost lose his life. Later, in August, 1981 Libya tested the United States in an incident that became know as the Gulf of Sidra incident. (I tried to summarize, but the incident description is just too detailed, so you can go to the link to read it for yourself.)





2. John Kennedy While it wasn't within the first 6 months or so, on October14, 1962 U-2 spy planes took pictures of a Soviet intermediate-range ballistic missile site under construction in Cuba. The Soviet Union had parked missiles 90 miles off the coast of Florida. This incident was preceeded by the Bay of Pigs invasion that was begun under the Eisenhower presidency, but was not carried out until 1961. After that incident, Fidel Castro was afraid that the U.S. would once again try to invade Cuba, thus leading to his agreement with the Soviets to place missiles on Cuban soil.





3. George H.W. Bush In 1989, Panamanian leader Manuel Noriega annuled the election of a new leader. The following is was happened as a result: In May 1989, Panama held democratic elections, in which Guillermo Endara was elected president; the results were then annuled by Noriega's government.[41] In response, Bush sent 2,000 more troops to the country, where they began conducting regular military exercises in Panamanian territory (in violation of prior treaties).[40] Bush then removed an embassy and ambassador from the country, and dispatched additional troops to Panama to prepare the way for an upcoming invasion.[40] Noriega suppressed an October military coup attempt and massive protests in Panama against him, but after a US serviceman was shot by Panamanian forces in December 1989, Bush ordered 24,000 troops into the country with an objective of removing Noriega from power;[41] "Operation Just Cause" was a large-scale American military operation, and the first in more than 40 years that was not Cold War related.[39] The mission was controversial,[42] but American forces achieved control of the country and Endara assumed the Presidency.

4. George W. Bush 9/11. Need I say more?

The fact that John McCain is exploiting what Joe Biden said about the testing of the mettle of Barack Obama should he be elected president is just crazy. History shows that new presidents are tested. I am sure there are more incidents, look them up president by president. I did. But, notice 3 of the 4 example I gave are Republicans. What does that say?
