What Does She Mean?

President Clinton has riled the Republicans and I say more power to him. Clinton went in to an interview with Chris Wallace of Fox News Sunday (first of all what was he thinking?) with an attitude that he was going to get blindsided, and he sure enough did. He was supposed to be talking about the $7 Billion dollars that he raised for the Clinton Global Initiative. But that wasn't what they wanted to talk about.

It seems that since the ABC movie about 9/11 blasted the Clinton Administration for not killing bin Laden, all the conservatives want to ask the former president is why he didn't get him when he had the chance. Bill Clinton and everyone in his administration says that they were very aggressive in their pursuit of bin Laden. The fact that they didn't kill him is something that Clinton regrets and he will tell you that he failed on this matter. He told Chris Wallace that on Sunday.

You can read in the 9/11 Commission Report that Dick Cheney was to head a terrorism task force after he took office, but that that commission did not meet until after 9/11. You can also read in that same report that Condi Rice admitted that she was handed a comprehensive strategy on bin Laden when she became the National Security Advisor, but that she did nothing with it until after 9/11. She tesitified to it. She tesitified that the Bush administration did not think that retaliation for the bombing of the USS Cole would have any effect. Read it for yourself. So what did she mean when she said...

"What we did in the eight months was at least as aggressive as what the Clinton administration did in the preceding years," Rice said.

Did she mean that the Clinton administration WAS aggressive and that they dropped the ball? Was she actually admitting that they believe that the Clinton administration did a good job? Or, was she actually admitting that se did nothing? Because that is what she did. That is what the Bush administration is doing now. There are 20,000 troops in Afghanistan and how many in Iraq? Why are we not focusing more of our troops on Afghanistan and Pakistan where bin Laden is most likely hiding?

I say go Bill Clinton! You gave the news shows a new question for Rice and her cronies. You can bet she will be asked the question and that she won't answer it.
